This option adds a digital radio transmitter to a clock. The time is transmitted to any number of other clocks that also incorporate digital radio transceivers, eliminating the cost and inconvenience of wiring. The master clock typically sends time updates every second to any number of slave clocks. The indoor signal coverage is 500 to 2,000 foot diameter, depending on the number and type of partitions. The outdoor line-of-site coverage is several miles. For wider coverage, slave clocks may be configured to repeat the signal. Also, multiple master clocks may be connected to the computer network. Each networked master clock can be individually accessed and controlled. BRG digital radios provide a full 1 watt output power and operate in the license-free 900 MHz ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) band. BRG data radios incorporate DES data encryption developed for the U.S. Government. This two key secure communications method prevents changing or reading communications data, and other interference. This secure communications method provides accurate, secure and reliable communications. Digital radios are also available that connect directly to your PC using a serial port and to computer networks. When ordering this option, simply add the letters TR to the clock model number, i.e. BRG840-TR. |
